My CHADS

This is a list of additional CHADs that I've come up with while
doing research to write my stories.

1. Why didn't Sheriff Valenti suspect that Isabel and Michael were aliens too after he figured out the truth about Max? All three were found wandering in the desert, and Isabel is Max's sister. But he didn't suspect them at all?

2. Why was Michael fostered to a single man? Were they just handing out kids to anyone when the orphanage closed?

3. How did Courtney find the pod squad in Roswell, but the rest of the Skins didn't?

Whitaker admits she stumbled on them in Roswell while she was looking for Pierce, but what about Courtney? We are never even given a hint of how she knew where to find them.

4. How was Brody able to track the signal from the orbs while the Skins couldn't?

The Skins clearly got the signal. Their pentragram devices where beeping all over the world in the epi Destiny. But with all of their advanced technology, they couldn't find it?

Brody found the signal using human technology

5. What exactly was the timeline of events that happened around the crash, and was there only one ship?

In the vision Liz has that she thinks is the crash, she saw the ship flying through space, past Saturn, and hurling rapidly toward the ground on planet Earth, making it appear that the ship crashed as soon as it arrived on Earth. That was in 1947.

But we know Charles Dupree was first abducted in 1936. So was he abducted by the aliens on the ship that crashed? Or was there another ship that came to Earth earlier? Or did the ship come to Earth in 1936, fly around for 11 years and then crash? Or were Liz's visions not of the ship crashing?

And what about the Granolith? When was that put in the pod chamber? It was never mentioned as being taken by the army after the crash. And if the shapeshifters had time to hide the Granolith, they could have hidden the pods and themselves too. So was the Granolith on the ship that crashed, or on another ship, or hidden earlier?

6. Exactly how many shapeshifters or other aliens were on the ship? Pierce says there were 2 dead and 2 alive. But there was clearly an alien who caused the truck that was carrying the pods to run off the road. So were there other aliens that the army and Special Unit didn't know about? And what happened to the alien that made the truck run off the road? Was it real, or a mindwarp?

7. How come after 10 or so years of memory recovery, Tess can only remember a few vague images and feelings from her past life, but after a couple of weeks, Max can remember just as much?

8. Plenty of people have asked over the years, but I thought it was worth stating again. What did Lonnie and Rath do to Tess in New York, and what happened to them? Are they dead, or still lurking around, waiting for another summit?

9. Did Nasedo really make a deal with Khivar, or did Tess make the deal with Khivar, or did she just lie about the whole thing and there was no deal?

If Nasedo did make a deal, why didn't he just hand over the pods and the Granolith to Khivar 40 years ealier? Why the whole long, drawn-out plan to get Tess pregnant? She might not have even agreed to do it.

And was he keeping in touch with Khivar or the Skins the whole time? If so how? And after Nasedo's death, did Tess keep in touch with them? If she didn't, how did she even know the deal was real or still viable? She might have been following a deal that wouldn't hold up after all these years.

10. Instead of hatching the whole convoluted plan to mindwarp Alex to decode the destiny book, send him out of town, and fake the elaborate trip to Sweden complete with 100s of slides, pictures, and a long-distance girl friend, why didn't Tess ask Brody/Larek or the Skins what the alien book said? Supposedly she was working with Khivar, so wouldn't the Skins help her to get the Granolith back sooner? Even if the book was in some kind of code, surely they have better technology to decode the book.

And did Tess know what was in the book - ie. instructions for how to work the Granolith to go home - or was she just hoping it would be helpful once it was decoded?

Or better yet, why didn't she just skip the translation of the book and ask the Skins how to use the Granolith to get home?

And in 'ITL&ITB' & 'BIY', why Max doesn't go to Brody/Larek to ask about a translation either?

Was there a reason Tess didn't go to Larek? Was there something in the book she didn't want any one to know about? Did she mindwarp Max not to go to Larek for a translation?

Which leads into the next CHAD -

11. If Tess really was working with Khivar and the Skins, why did she help Max, Michael and Isabel escape, and kill the Skins in the episode Wipeout? And why was Nicholas trying to get the location of the Granolith from Max by mindwarping him. Why didn't Tess tell the Skins where the Granolith was?

Which leads into the next CHAD -

12. Future Max tells Liz that in his time, Tess leaves, making them too weak to defeat to Khivar. But if Tess is so mad or upset with Max that she leaves, why didn't she hand over the Granolith to Khivar and the Skins, or use it to go back to Antar? And we know she didn't because it is still conveniently sitting in the pod chamber when Future Max uses it to come back in time.

Also, why would Tess leave if she has that deal with Khivar? Wouldn't she try to mind warp Max to sleep with her, or try to seduce him away from Liz?

For those reasons and sooooooo many others (there is a huge list of problems on the official Chadd list), it just makes me think the whole deal with Khivar was fictious and Tess made it up on the spot to gain sympathy from Max, or she made the deal much later, possibly at the summit when Lonnie and Rath took her.

13. And what exactly is the elusive 'Four Square' that future Tess broke up?

Future Max said they were "a complete unit, that they all had different gifts, and with one missing, they weren't as strong". But what does that mean exactly? Were they engineered to have complimentary powers to work together, or could any four people work together? And does it have to be four people, or could it be six, or three, or ten?

And what is the advantage of being in a 'unit'? Does it give you extra power to work together, or is it just a case of having the right combination of powers to do different things?

Which leads into the next CHAD -

14. How exactly did Tess leaving in Future Max's time, doom the entire planet? Future Max says the Earth is taken over by their enemies. Since the Skins were destroyed, Khivar must have sent more troops to Earth. So how could having Tess around have prevented that?

15. Max finds the wireless camera in Michael's apartment in the episode 'Tess, Lies & Videotape.' The gang then takes the camera and uses it to spy on the Hardings. My problem is, just because they took the camera to use for themselves, doesn't mean it isn't still broadcasting to the Special Unit too. The camera has a limited broadcast range, but the SU would clearly have seen Max and Michael discover the camera, and surely they would follow them and see the plan to bug the Harding house. So unless Alex figured out a way to change the frequency the camera broadcasts on, Pierce must have seen everything at the Harding house, including Tess using her powers to reassemble the broken statue.

Which leads into the next CHAD -

16. The camera was at Michael's house in the epi 'Sexual Healing' when Michael and Isabel were having the whole conversation about Liz getting visions, and maybe they were from Nasedo. However they also talked about that connecting with humans might be the way they are supposted to get info about themselves and their past.

So basically Isabel and Michael admitted they weren't human. Was Pierce in the bathroom or at lunch during that part of the conversation? Why didn't the Special Unit grab them up immediately?

17. Why did Ed Harding/Nasedo give the camera that Liz planted in his house to the Sheriff? He later said to Tess that he knew Max and the others planted the camera, so why involve the Sheriff? It only served to make Valenti suspicious of him. Was Harding trying to involve Valenti? Playing with him for some reason? Perhaps he knew the Sheriff was suspicious of the kids and was planning to set him up to kill him?

18. Tess said that she and Nasedo have been running from the Special Unit all of her life. Why? How did the Special Unit know who they were? And how did the SU keep tracking them if Nasedo could take on any form? Was Nasedo sending signals to attract the Special Unit all the time? It doesn't seem like he was a very good protector if he couldn't keep Tess away from the Special Unit her whole life.

And if the Special Unit was somehow following them, why did they come to Roswell and basically expose Max, Michael and Isabel to them?

19. Why did Valenti get in trouble for looking for the missing girl in 'To Serve & Protect'? The girl's mother was worried about her and hadn't heard from her. Isn't it Valenit's job to investigate suspected crimes and missing persons? And then the girl turned up safe, but her parents file to have Valenti's actions investigated. Why? They got their daughter back safe, so what is their problem?

20. The message in the orb from Max and Isabel's mother told them that their enemies were on Earth. How did she know that and put it in the message? The orb was on the ship that crashed in 1947, but the Skins didn't arrive on Earth until 3 years later. The message had to be put in the orb before she knew anything about the enemies even leaving for Earth. So was she able to alter the message in the orb? Maybe the message wasn't really in the orb but it checks an 'answering machine' of sorts and that's where she left the message.

Which leads into the next CHAD -

21. What exactly was the message from Max and Isabel's mother talking about when she said they would only know the enemy from the evil within. Was she just telling them that the enemy would look like everyone else, and how did she know? Did she have information that the Skins were going to pretend to be human? Or was there really a presence of evil or somekind of 'difference' that the podsters should have been able to 'feel' when the Skins were near?

22. What exactly was the balance? Sure they said it was some kind of energy or something inside that can get messed up, but that is all. So what can knock it out of balance? RiverDog said that Nasedo told him the heat from the sweat knocked it out of balance. So they are vunerable to heat? Why did they put the pods in the desert then?

Are the healing stones the only thing that can fix it? What was with the webbing that Michael had, and the visions? What would have happened to Michael if he wasn't healed? Would he have died or stayed in that sort of comma? And how is human energy able to 'balance' an alien?

RiverDog says that Nasedo told him the balance was a force that can change your body and mind. Does that mean it can physically alter you? Like give you an extra head or change your appearance or something?

The balance can pull you in if you don't navigate it correctly. What does that mean? Will you be trapped in that comma with Michael or go into a comma of your own?

23. How did whoever made the 'destiny book' know what the podsters hair styles would look like? Can they see the future hairstyles of people? Or maybe the podsters were programed to have those hairstyles at that point in their life? lol Or maybe it is proof that those pics in the 'destiny book' were altered by Nasedo or Tess, or were a mindwarp.

23. Wasn't Tess concerned about leaving the 'destiny book' translation and the Granolith activation crystal in an unlocked shack with an alien explosive device for four or more months? Anyone could have wandered in there and set off the explosion and then she is out the translation and the crystal to take them home.

24. Does anyone believe that the offspring of two incredibly complex alien-human hybrids could gestate and be born in one month, especially when it took the parents a good 40 to 50 years to develop? Didn't think so. Max you are an idiot.
